WINTER 2023 HERBAL APPRENTICESHIP

Delve into the ancient practices of working with herbal medicine and form strong relationships with the plants as potent allies during this winter apprenticeship. Together in circle, we will explore medicinal plants to support the body systems, learn how to make common herbal preparations including salves, teas, tinctures, syrups, oils (and more!), and connect with the plants on a spirit level through guided meditation, journeying, and other practices.

My goal is for each person to leave this apprenticeship with a solid understanding of how to work with herbs to support themselves and their families maintain health and wellbeing, and to build trust with the plants on both physical and energetic levels.

  • 8 alternating Thursdays beginning January 5th and ending April 13th from 9am-2pm in Pownal, Maine (a few minutes from Freeport).

    • January 5th, January 19th, February 2nd, February 16th, March 2nd, March 16th, March 30th, April 13th.

  • This will be an intimate circle with a maximum of 6 students

  • Each class will focus on a body system (digestive, immune, cardiovascular, etc.), and the herbs to support that system.

    • Mornings will consist of first settling in with a cup of tea, group check-ins, a lesson on herbal support for a body system, and in depth study of the commonly used plants to support that system.

    • After a lunch break, afternoons will be a hands on project making an herbal preparation followed by a plant spirit exploration activity.

    • I will provide optional but recommended readings and home herbal activities to further connect with the plants between classes.

    • Students will get to make and take home many herbal remedies during our time together to begin to build their own apothecary.

  • Energy exchange: sliding scale $690-790 includes all materials and many take home herbal goodies! I ask for a $200 deposit to hold your space.

Due to a small group size, there will be plenty of time and space for individual inquiries and curiosities. May this be a fun, empowering, supportive, cozy, and meaningful wintertime experience! Please send an email of interest to allie@alliearmstrongwellness.com with the following information: Name, DOB, Email, Phone Number, Address, and:

  • What are you hoping to get out of our time together?

  • Are there any specific plants that you would like to get to know better?

  • What are your greatest passions? Doesn't have to be herb related!!

I look forward to hearing from you! Please reach out with any questions, and I'm happy to provide more information.
